Noble Peace Prize winner aged just 17. Malala’s father was a teacher and ran an all girls school in Pakistan. When the Taliban took over her town and enforced a ban on all girls in education, Malala, then 15 spoke publicly challenging the ban and highlighting women’s right to education.
Following this, a gunman boarded her school bus and shot her in the head. She survived and because the most famous teenage in the world at that time. She remained in the UK after treatment and established a non profit organisation - the Malala Fund that fights for girls right to education by building schools, providing advocacy and recruitment of teachers.
Malala is a true inspiration to all women, girls and youth of the 21st Century. Her commitment to human rights is second to none and her efforts will continue to influence change for generations to come.
