Right to Choose

Conference notes that legislative powers over abortion have been devolved to the Scottish Parliament following the passage of the Scotland Act 2016. Conference affirms its support for a woman’s right to choose, and expresses its solidarity with movements across the globe - such as Repeal the 8th in Ireland - campaigning to secure abortion rights for women.

Conference resolves that the reproductive rights of women in Scotland, and their ability to access to safe, legal and free abortion through the National Health Service, should not be undermined.
