Access to HIV home testing services

Conference recognises the #ZEROHIV campaign by HIV Scotland aiming to reach zero new transmissions by 2030.

Conference notes with concern that according to HIV Scotland, 9% of people with HIV in Scotland are unaware of their status, and that HIV disproportionately affects the LGBT+ community.

Conference understands that especially in rural areas, accessing sexual health services can be difficult for people who might not be open about their sexuality and appreciates that HIV Home Test Kits offer an accessible; safe and confidential way of offering help for this demographic.

Conference asks the Scottish Government to continue its positive track record in helping reach net zero new transmissions of HIV in Scotland by investigating if a similar scheme providing free home testing kits to that of the Terrence Higgins Trusts in London can be established.
